I honor Cokie Roberts, renowned journalist, who served as PTA leader when her children were students here. Today we remember so many memorable, honorable actions, a leader to follow!

I attended the American Community School, Athens, Greece in 1962. My Family and I of Greek origin living in Australia, returned to Greece for a holiday to visit the birthplace of my Parents. Kythera. I was enrolled during the winter, and then we spent all of summer on Kythera and touring some of the amazing archeological sites in Greece. My time at the school was a wonderful time in my life. I was accepted by my fellow students, who thought I had a funny accent, made many friends from different countries. The teachers were great, helping me adapt to a different way of learning than what I was used to. I don't know if there were other Australian students, but the English teacher was, and I felt right at home in his class. Mr Cousins. That was years ago, but I have lots of fond memories, and recommended this School very highly.

I remember when I went to this school It was a really good school and I am still friends with some of the kids that went there with me But I did have one major problem: bullies When I went there I was always bullied by other kids and I know what ur thinking "well that's not the schools fault" It kinda is because they did a terrible job at punishing the bullies So I would tell the teacher (I was like 6) And the bully had to spend just 1 break time doing HW and then he/she would just start bullying me again So my advice would be to just HANDLE YOUR BULLIES BETTER

While this school likes to use American Schools in their name they are not following United Stated Federal ADA Act (Americans with Disability Act). therefore if your child have any even minor health issues they will not be admitted to this school since they will not provide any accommodations in order for the child to have same opportunity as a healthy kid to pursue education. If they are indeed American Educational Organization they would provide all necessary accommodations for all children regarding of their health and physical abilities. While they will proudly talk about their tennis court they will do nothing to make disabled children feel welcome there. If you have child with this issues I would avoid this school. I wrote an email to the board and staff and never received any communication back. What a shame to have a school calling themselves American Community School and act so unprofessionally like this.
