Definitely the pride of Greece, makes you feel like being somewhere in New York when you walk there. Congratulations to the people who were responsible for making the Airport. Easily accessible, especially by the subway and by the suburban, and also connected with 24 hour buses (X93, X95, X96, X97). This is where the platform for the suburban train is, either with direction to Piraeus or to Ano Liosia.

The experience was good and the security check was on par. Just our particular flight check-in counter had issues and I had to wait 2.5hrs just me alone for my boarding pass

Nice metro, wish it came more often. It’s a bit hard to find and navigate so here’s some advice: When you land, walk out of the arrival gates. There are several lanes of traffic with taxis and pick up cars. Walk across these lanes to the other side and go up the outdoor stairs. Walk straight and you’ll see the metro entrance. From there, but a ticket and scan to enter the platform. There is only one subway line (M3) the goes to the airport. For all others, you’ll have to transfer along the way. To ge to downtown Athens (Acropoli), you’ll have to transfer to the M2.

After renovations, Athens airport became very positive. It's easy to navigate and the signage is good too. Security check has been quick as there are plenty of queuing officers to help through peak times. We were travelling at noon and there were plenty of school students, handled warmly. Last but not least I extremely appreciated the time spent at the Play Area .Small but very well organized and clean. The staff was very caring towards my little ones and prepared to answer all my questions about where to find baby food or other facilities at the airport. They also gave me plenty of information about child friendly facilities and places to visit for my trip which proved to be very accurate. Great service it was like having a personal family travel advisor and for free. Good job Athens airport!!

Dear All, Athens international Airport FOR TRANSFER was a disgrace. Let me explain myself, Flying from Bucharest with Tarom air to Athens with a connection flight to Larnaca. Flight landed in Athens at 18:10, connection was at 19:55 to Larnaca. We were told to answer the red phone and explain that we don’t have printed boarding pass. We had to wait for 90minutes (a whole Football match) for someone to arrive to help us with the passes. The time now is 19:40. The lady once she arrived was extremely rude as if she was doing us a favor giving us the boarding passes. We arrived to our gate at 19:55, the time when we had to board. If anyone from senior management is reading this , I kindly ask to explain to the staff at transfer desk to respect the passengers and to try to ease the procedure. If you do not wish to have this problem, do not choose TRANSIT through Athens. FYI if you only wish to visit Athens its all good (beautiful city and good people) Read all my account reviews, i rarely write bad reviews but this one was a special case.

The least organized airport I've ever been to. We were waiting at the line to go through the gate and cannot sit anywhere. The sitting area for gates 40-43 is after the ticket check gate and outside of it there where like 3 chairs! Waited until it was about 15 minuets to the boarding time end and then they opened the gate. Thank you very much, I was standing for 40 minutes even with priority boarding, take your 15 minutes to sit and put some more chair before the gate. The toilets are nightmare as well. 2 cabins in women toilet for a whole floor, queue was for 20 women. Not to mention that stuff at the first gate at the airport was uninformed about non-visa travel for refugees and made some woman call her ambassy at 7am on Sunday. Her flight was in an hour so I guess she missed it, as it was impossible to cooperate with these people. Oh, and it was dirty everywhere. The food on benches next to free duty, no toilet paper-only used one on the floor. Worst airport experience ever. Never again.
