A	Adam G on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Built in 1840 like an ancient Greek temple, in the style of the Acropolis on the grounds of Corfu's Old Venetian Fortress, the Church of Saint George, originally an Anglican Church (yes it was built by the Brits during the British occupation) and 25 years later in 1865 converted to Greek Orthodox, has imposing views of the sea. While twice a year Divine Liturgies in the Byzantine Rite are held annually at the church, its main use today is for special events and exhibitions, as well as concerts and musical performances which are some times performed in the church's forecourt.

It looks like an ancient greek temple, but it was built by the British military as an Anglican church in 1840 and was converted to a Greek Orthodox church in 1865. It’s worth a visit if you are around Corfu town.

În 1865 the church and was converted to a Greek Orthodox rite. It is the only one Greek church built in Doric style.
