Η πρώτη εκκλησία του Αγίου Αντωνίου χτίστηκε το 1840 και ήταν μικρή, στα μετέπειτα όμως χρόνια οι ανάγκες του χωριού Για μια μεγαλύτερη εκκλησία όλο και αυξάνονταν με αποτέλεσμα να κτιστεί ο νέος ναός και να γίνουν τα εγκαίνια του το 1938 ακουλούθησε στη συνέχεια ο πόλεμος και η κατάληψη του Μάλεμε και της Κρήτης. Η εκκλησία του Αγίου Αντωνίου χρησιμοποιήθηκε από τους Γερμανούς ως αποθήκη για ανταλλακτικά αεροπλάνων αιτία να βομβαρδιστεί επανειλημμένα από τους άγγλους. Μετά τη λήξη του πολέμου ο ναός ανασκευάστηκε Με συνεχείς επεμβάσεις μέχρι σήμερα.
History of the Temple.
The first church of Agios Antonios was built in 1840 and was small, but in later years the needs of the village increased. As a result, the new church was built and its inauguration in 1938 was followed by war and occupation of Maleme and Crete. The church of Agios Antonios was used by the Germans as a warehouse for spare parts to cause the British to be bombarded repeatedly. After the end of the war the church was rebuilt.
