We had the pleasure of having Katerina as our tour guide on this mythological walking food tour in Athens. She was EXCELLENT with our 9/11yo kids. She was conscious of the summer heat and found many shady spots to rest and enjoy different tastes of the city. She was flexible, once she learned our tastes, about what food items she would recommend. She knows where the nice clean bathrooms are! She was patient and kind to our kids, and somehow was able to understand their mumbling English! She offered to take pictures for us at any stop. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Athens with kids. We got to see the Plaka, Monistraki, and Psi— neighborhoods as part of the tour.

During our stay in Athens we decided to do the Scents and Flavors Tour with the Greek TravelTellers and had an amazing time with the knowledgeable Constantina. As an archaeologist and Art Historian she knew many interesting stories behind the places that we visited. It felt like walking the city with a local and a friend at the same time. Constantina had us taste some great flavors such as Lukumades with honey and cinnamon, something you used to find only in the summer in Greece. She took us to a wonderful café where we observed how Greek Coffee was brewed in a traditional way. After tasting the coffee she even read our futures in the left-overs of coffee in the cubs, a tradition that she has learned from her grandma. We shared some Raki while she taught us how to bring a toast the Greek way and visited the oldest distillery in town. We strolled some neighborhoods that without her we would have never discovered. The tour was interactive and engaging and Constantina could really convey her passion for her hometown to us. Next time we are in town we will make sure to book another tour with them to learn more about this amazing city.
