★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The review is for the Mpriki restaurant that operates with the kioski cafe.
I found it to be mediocre in a negative sense.
Let's start with the positives:
The restaurant is located a few meters away from the sea and runs from a traditional building. The decor inside is nice, with old furniture presented in a modern/youth oriented way. Also the place seemed clean. Finally, the waitress was very friendly.
Negatives:
The cook (spring 2018) has a fixation with salt. Everything from the apparently simple dakos salad (cretan crunchy bread with cheese and tomato) to the more complex salatouri(steamed fish and raw veggies) was just TOO salty; I can say the food was barely edible. Apart from that, one of the dishes we ordered was not delivered (but was charged nonetheless). Seeing it was roasted to a crisp from neighboring tables, I'd say we stood lucky.
In conclusion, there are several other seafood restaurants in the port area, and I would definitely visit one of them rather than that.
