Even at her age she still manages to put together a feast in front of you at the table and does so with the greatest amount of passion. If you have ever had the privilege to eat the food of a "true nonna" you can imagine what her food tastes like: Simple, using fresh, local ingredients combined with a lot of love! Call ahead to check she's cooking that night and if she's feeling tired or exhausted that day, be mindful enough to respect that and go another night. It will be worth it!

That being said it is a good idea to call ahead to book a place and see if the meals on the menu are interesting for you. We had meatballs, chicken, salad, stuffed peppers and there was not a single thing that was off. Food is delicious and tasty. Do make an effort to get to Maria's - you won't be sorry.

The food is out of this world, super delicious, the atmosphere is cozy and Maria and her family are amiable, friendly, and hospitable! You can't go wrong with ordering a pork stake, tzatziki, wine .. in fact, all of their home made food is fantastic! We highly recommend Maria's tavern to everybody who likes authentic Greek atmosphere.

Greetings from the Bulgarian couple that visited you in the end of the season. And big hugs for the cutest dog :)

It's like going to someone's house, quite intimate, so treat all the experience with respect, it's more than a business. We arrived late in the evening, there was not much food left, but what we ate was very well done. The potatoes were made from fresh potatoes, the meat was perfect. I would recommend to call them before the arrival to check if it is a good time to go.
