Y	Yannis Samatas on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ημουν μαθητής στο Καπετανάκειο, πολλά χρόνια πριν, τότε που ήταν ακόμα σχολείο και μεις περήφανοι που πηγαίναμε σ’ αυτό. Σήμερα διαβάζω (επίσης βλέπω και φωτογραφίζω) ότι το ιστορικό Καπετανάκειο είναι ένα γιαπί-φάντασμα, που όλο φτιάχνεται αλλά ποτέ δεν τελειώνει. Το παλιό κτίριο είναι μια από τις πιο άθλιες εικόνες στην πόλη του Ηρακλείου. Διαβάζω ακόμα ότι τα παιδιά κάνουν μάθημα σε κοντέινερ στην αυλή του σχολείου, κι ότι το χειμώνα η αυλή μετατρέπεται σε λίμνη όταν βρέχει. Δεν ξέρω, δεν έχω προσωπική εμπειρία και άποψη. Υποθέτω ότι το σχολείο με κάποιο τρόπο και με την προσπάθεια φιλότιμων ανθρώπων καταφέρνει να λειτουργεί, όπως και τόσα άλλα πράγματα στη χώρα μας. Ομως η φρικιαστική εικόνα του παλιού κτιρίου, μόνο εφιάλτες μπορεί να προκαλέσει σε κάθε Ηρακλειώτη που θυμάται με νοσταλγία και αγάπη το παλιό του σχολείο. Ας ελπίσουμε ότι το κτίριο-φάντασμα δεν θα στοιχειώνει για πολλά χρόνια ακόμα την πόλη μας, κάνοντας μας να αισθανόμαστε πολίτες 3ης κατηγορίας στη σύγχρονη Ευρώπη. I was a student at Kapetanakeio many years ago, when it was still a school, and we were proud to go to it. Today I read (I also see and photograph) that the historic Kapetanakeio is a ghostly slope, all made but never ending. The old building is one of the most despicable pictures in the city of Heraklion. I also read that children take a container lesson in the school yard, and that in the winter the yard turns into a lake when it rains. I do not know, I do not have personal experience and viewpoint. I suppose the school in some way and with the efforts of kind people manages to function like so many other things in our country. But the horrifying image of the old building can only cause nightmares to every Heracliot who remembers his old school with nostalgia and love. Hopefully, the ghost building will not haunt our city for many more years, making us feel like 3rd class citizens in modern Europe.
