★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Το μνημείο της ΚΕ του ΚΚΕ, οι «Σκιές», που φιλοτέχνησε ο Μάρκος Γεωργιλάκης, γλύπτης και αναπληρωτής καθηγητής της Ανώτατης Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών, στέκεται περήφανο και ολόρθο σε μια γη κατάσπαρτη με τα αποτυπώματά των Μακρονησιωτών. Πέντε φιγούρες σύμβολο τιμής και μνήμης σε όλους τους κομμουνιστές και αγωνιστές που μαρτύρησαν σε εκείνον τον τόπο, αλλά στάθηκαν ορθοί στο μεγάλο ανήφορο, γιατί είχαν μεγάλη απόφαση στην καρδιά. Πέντε φιγούρες που κοιτούν πέρα, την «αντιφεγγιά της Αθήνας»... Και μια υπόσχεση, ένα αυτονόητο χρέος: Δεν σας ξεχνάμε! Σας τιμάμε κάθε μέρα με την πάλη μας!
 The monument of the Central Committee of the KKE, the "Shadows", created by Markos Georgilakis, sculptor and associate professor of the School of Fine Arts, stands proudly and whole in a land strewn with the footprints of the people of Makronissos. Five figures symbol of honor and memory to all the communists and fighters who martyred in that place, but stood upright on the big uphill, because they had a great decision in their hearts. Five figures looking beyond, the "anti-glare of Athens" ... And a promise, an obvious debt: We do not forget you! We honor you every day with our fight!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To the people responsible for this Google tag: Please remove the indication "tourist attraction" as well as the option to "rate" with stars. A penal concentration camp is not rateable nor is it a spectacle - with or without a KKE monument. Instead of "tourists", school excursions could go for once beyond the Poseidon temple and school curricula could look beyond their noses. Thank you. p.s.: Full points for the recklessness and because google does not allow to post a review without the bloody stars.
