★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο ναός του Αγίου Αθανασίου φαίνεται να κτίσθηκε γύρω στο 1600. Θα πρέπει να θεωρηθεί ως πολύ πιθανόν ότι πυρπολήθηκε το 1821 και στην συνέχεια (προφανώς κατά την δεκαετία του 1830) επισκευάστηκε. Αρχικώς πρέπει να ήταν κατάγραφος ο κυρίως ναός, αλλά ή καταστροφή του 1821 και η ακολουθούσα αδιαφορία για τις τοιχογραφίες του, επέφεραν πολλές ζημίες στο ζωγραφικό σύνολο. Σήμερα σώζονται λίγα σπαράγματα τοιχογραφιών στον βόρειο τοίχο και το σύνολο της παραστάσεως τής Κοιμήσεως τής Θεοτόκου στον δυτικό. Χαρακτηριστικό της παραστάσεως αυτής είναι ή εικονογράφηση της διακινήσεως των Αποστόλων πάνω σε σύννεφα, προκειμένου να καταφθάσουν εγκαίρως και να παρευρεθούν στην ταφή της Θεοτόκου.
Με βάση τα τεχνοτροπικά στοιχεία των σωζόμενων τοιχογραφιών, μπορούμε να πούμε ότι πρόκειται για έργο των αρχών του 17ου αιώνος και προέρχεται από ζωγράφο επηρεασμένο από τις τάσεις της κρητικής ζωγραφικής, όπως αυτές εκδηλώνονταν τότε στο Άγιο Όρος.
 The church of St. Athanasius seems to have been built around 1600. It should be considered as likely that it was burned in 1821 and subsequently (apparently in the 1830s) repaired. Originally the main church should have been listed, but the 1821 disaster and the subsequent indifference to its frescoes caused a great deal of damage to the painting. Today, a few fragments of frescoes on the north wall and all of the representation of the Assumption on the west are preserved today. An illustration of the movement of the Apostles on clouds in order to arrive in time and attend the burial of the Theotokos is characteristic of this performance.
Based on the style of the frescoes preserved, we can say that it is a work of the early 17th century and comes from a painter influenced by the trends of Cretan painting, as they were then manifested in Mount Athos.
