I am not familiar with this AIESEC because I just communicated with them in order to participate in a GV in Egypt. They were really helpfull and supportive through the whole experience. I rate 4 stars because, sadly, they have no idea what's going on with some other local AIESEC that they collaborate with. Here's my expirience in Egypt with the GV project called "Explore" (also posted in AAST AIESEC ALEXANDRIA). I went to Egypt in summer 2019 for a GV. The whole experience was awesome but the AIESEC part was horrible. My project was called "Explore" and it had NOTHING to do with volunteering! It was just tourism around Egypt. The discription said that I will have some video editting seminars and photography lessons but I had 0 instruction on the topic. The description said that i will travel around Egypt and make videos and promo about touristic destinations, but no one ever asked me to do so. I made a lot of videos for my personal joy and when I sended them to the leader of the project, they just said "oh, that's cool' and they didnt use them in any way of promoting tourism in Egypt (which was 'my job'), not even upload them on Facebok. In general, the whole job description was a TOTAL LIE and many of the AIESEC members that was organising the trips around Egypt was trying to make profit of them! And they acctually did! For example, some projects say that they include 2 meals during trip.... Let me say that the "meal" is 2 fallafel which costs 0.8 euros!!! I paid A LOT OF MONEY to have some good hosting, some good accomodation and some good food and the things i got cost not even half of the money I gave! Many volunteers said that they take part of the money. In general most of the AIESECers there are really nice people! They are funny and they will spend cuallity time with you, show you around the place and help you with most of your problems. Also the volunteers are really nice and everybody get allong. The country is really worth going and also many trips were in some fantastic places like Mount Sina, Dahab and Cairo. If somebody wants to participate in a GV project like Explore, I would definatelly NOT RECOMEND it! It's really expensive (if you do it on your own it will be less expensive) and after all you go there to volunteer....At explore project you DO NOT volunteer, you are just a tourist. Regarding to other GV projects, i saw many drawbacks on them as well, like false job description or starting dates change when the applicant arrive at the country and many other cons. I met some incredible people there and had some unique experiences! I will always remember that trip... If you want a travel agency you can go there with aiesec. If you want to volunteer in another country and get to know the cultur and be prodactive in some way, do not go there. Maybe try another AIESEC in another country, or maybe try some different projects like 'workaway' or 'woofy'.
