Great place, off the beaten track. Felt very local. The food was very good and the price was more than reasonable.

It is always a pleasure to go in this Taverna The food is excellent and all the products are fresh: most vegetable from their garden, the meat from local sheperds and moreover the nice welcome from the owners that we know for years The decor is also fantastic surrounded by the mountains with little stream which is just at the door and were are eventually drinki g the water from the spring In the hot months it is particularly appreciated

The best restaurant in the area. You can taste here the famous Symi beans but also the delicious grilled meat and traditional spaghetti, in a pleasant environment surrounded by plane trees. If you are visiting the broader area of Symi, you should definitely give Aphrodite restaurant a try.

Perfect place, seamlessly blended in the natural environment. Feels good just to be there. Food is more than great. It’s exquisite! Simple yet fabulous traditional flavours, great unique combos (try the beans, vlita herbs and zucchini dish), and probably the best lamb (cooked with the “antikristo” method that you need to order ahead) in Crete.

Don't know if we managed to catch them on a bad day - I was recommended this taverna and my dad suggested to eat their fresh beans "fasolia". Unfortunately, my experience was not good. Customer service was slow and the place was empty other than another couple. A lot of food was scribbled off the menu list due to availability including the beans but still managed to order a few dishes. Waiter came back to inform us they could not dish up a plate that we selected from the limited menu... And when we received the goat dish in red sauce it was not even in a red sauce. I was waiting patiently to ask the waiter if the dish was correct but there was no staff to be seen for at least 10minutes. I got up and walked towards the kitchen and the waiter came to our table. I asked about the dish and his response was I do not know and went to ask the chef. Chef came and said it is white sauce but is essentially the same dish. I told them I ordered the red sauce and they took it away. Had more issues with food delays... There was more attentiveness from the wasps and a "friendly" oriental hornet that was eating the left over food. (That was the final straw and we got up to leave) Chef shouted at a staff member for not lighting up something to keep the wasps away (even though I asked that same staff member whether it was safe to sit outside with so many flying around- response was to stay calm and do not annoy them) I told them I was recommended the taverna and to eat the beans... And chef told me they had beans and maybe the waiter did not understand .......

Actually is a very professional tavern ran by a polite and friendly lady. The quality of the food meets the level of a demanding greek client. The lamp portions were big with enough meat on them. Most important is the food is cooked daily and the salads were fresh. Personally I like the lamp and the local traditional green beans. I totally recommended them and they are worth visiting them even you need some time to reach them.
