A real favorite as far as I am concerned, this quiet little village with its medieval and ancient appearance is very pleasant to explore.

Ευγενικοί και εξυπηρετικοί επαγγελματίες, μείναμε πολύ ευχαριστημένοι σε όλα τα μαγαζιά που επισκεφτήκαμε. Ευτυχώς οι κάτοικοι φροντίζουν τον τόπο τους και συντηρούν τη γραφικοτητά του. Very beautiful, clean, picturesque place with nice corners and paths in its alleys. Shops that respect visitors. Polite and helpful professionals, we were very happy in all the shops we visited. Fortunately, the residents take care of their place and maintain its picturesqueness.

S	Stelios Zacharias on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η Αρεόπολη είναι ένα πολύ εντυπωσιακό μέρος καθος από τον δρόμο (παίρνοντας απλά από τον κεντρικό) δεν περιμένεις και δεν φαντάζεσαι την ομορφιά της. Μόνο όταν παρκάρεις και μπεις με τα πόδια στα στενά της σοκάκια και στις πλατείες θα δεις την πραγματική Λακωνική ομορφιά! Φανταστική εκδρομή για σαββατοκύριακο!

KLAOUDATOS on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ΑΡΕΟΠΟΛΗ Η πρωτεύουσα της Μέσα Μάνης και ένα από τα πιο τουριστικά χωριά της ευρύτερης περιοχής είναι ένας καλοδιατηρημένος οικισμός με πέτρινα σοκάκια που φέρουν ζωντανά τα ίχνη της αίγλης του παρελθόντος, καλοδιατηρημένα πυργόσπιτα, και πετρόχτιστους ξενώνες. Κέντρο του χωριού είναι η μεγάλη πλατεία με το άγαλμα του Πετρόμπεη Μαυρομιχάλη, Πλατεία Αθανάτων. Γύρω από την πλατεία θα βρείτε πολλά μαγαζιά, ταβέρνες, cafes και τη δημοτική βιβλιοθήκη. Περπατήστε στο παραδοσιακό κομμάτι του οικισμού και θαυμάστε τους πύργους (ξεχωρίζουν του Στυλιανού Μαυρομιχάλη, του Κυριακούλη Μαυρομιχάλη, του Μπαρελάκου και του Πικουλάκη). AREOPOLI The capital of Mesa Mani and one of the most touristic villages in the area is a well-preserved settlement with stone alleys that bear alive the traces of the glory of the past, well-preserved tower houses, and stone-built guesthouses. The center of the village is the large square with the statue of Petrobei Mavromichalis, Athanaton Square. Around the square you will find many shops, taverns, cafes and the municipal library. Walk in the traditional part of the settlement and admire the towers (Stylianos Mavromichalis, Kyriakoulis Mavromichalis, Barelakos and Pikoulakis stand out).

Graphic, picturesque with traditional hotels and great beaches within 10-15 minute drive like Limeni which also offers great dining options. Great places to eat like Mavromichaleiko, alepis for traditional souvlaki and a visit to Milia bakery in the Tachiarches Square for traditional bread and the local delicacy travihtes is a must. Plenty of options for drinks in various small bars and cafes along the main road. Parking can be a bit of a trouble, there is a municipal parking below the tachiarhes Square or you can park along the main road above the main square. Main road is closed to cars in the afternoon so it is very safe to wonder around Areopoli with your kids or pets. Areopolis is a great choice to use as a hub to explore the wonderful Mani.
