ACC is the most cozy place for chess in Athens with two separate halls, one where FIDE rated tournaments of all time formats take place on a daily basis and a second one for friendly chess games, games’ analysis or simply chatting while having a coffee, drink or snack! It also has a wide range of chess books and accessories in competitive prices.

The moment i stepped into the building i thought that i accidentaly lost my way,the interior was simply phenomenal,easily confused for a 5-star hotel. On the other hand,i was supposed to be there for a quick stroll and ended up staying for 7 hours due to the pleasing personalities i met there and also informative to add as well. Overall,will definitely visit again as it was a rather pleasing and informative experience with a friendly environment and the coffee was a big plus as well.

The front door is easily missed but once inside the place is beautiful, even my non-chess-playing girlfriend was happy to sit and enjoy the place while I lost myself playing with the owner and other visitors. I had intended to spend an hour then leave for last minute shopping before heading to the airport but ended up staying for 2.5 hours with a new book. I could easily have spent my entire week there. Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys chess at all.

My boyfriend and I dropped in while on vacation in Athens and had a great time playing each other, and then playing a chess teacher who was hanging out in the club (he won decisively - haha). There's a bar there too where you can order a nice hot or cold drink. Note that the chess club is up on the 4th floor and can't be seen from the street. You need to take an elevator up, which accessible from a corridor at street level.
