Amazing accommodation. It combines nature with absolute tranquility. You really feel rested. Very hospitable and the host. He offered us everything. Well done

Mavos jest on niesamowitym człowiekiem. Trzeba tam pojechać i to przeżyć. Zachęcam wszystkich do odwiedzenia.
I could live in Augusta permanently. My wife and I felt better there than in our own home. The photos in the booking do not reflect the atmosphere of this place even in half. I have never met a host who cares so much about his guests. From the very first minute we felt as if we were visiting a family member or friend. Mavos is an amazing man. He welcomed us with a Raki decanter, and later surprised us with the contents of the refrigerator and not only: D Home equipment is complete, starting with all kitchen appliances, ending with water for an iron :-) The decor of the house is very cozy and elegant. I do not have to praise the view because you can see it in the pictures, and in fact it is even nicer. The surroundings of the house are amazing, peace and quiet, it's a pity to go to the beach. On the first day, Mavos invited us to a cafe where Stelios is the boss, a man with smiling eyes :-) I recommend meals in his restaurant. He surprised us when he himself proposed in the evening that he would take us and the bikes upstairs home, he was a really nice man. Walking around Chani in the company of Mavos was also fun. You have to go there and experience it. It was hard for us to part with this place and we will definitely be back. It's our favorite place so far. I encourage everyone to visit.

Deres village is a verdant semi mountainous settlement of Platanias municipality with many water springs and the sources of Tavronitis river. It is located 25 miles from Chania. The fortress Metochi that you will be able to see at Deres is an impressive fortress and a complex of buildings of the Venetian period that still survives. It has large internal courtyard and buildings all around and it was the residence of the Venetian ruler and later, the residence of the Turkish Aga who ruled the region during the Ottoman occupation. If you ever visit Deres, you should definitely experience the traditional festivals and celebrations that are organized four times a year from early July to early September. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the Cretan hospitality and to taste local treats, namely honey, cheese, wine, xerotigana and the famous raki, the traditional Cretan drink. The permanent residents of the village cultivate olives, oranges, chestnuts as well as honey and they also produce charcoal in the traditional way. They also farm sheep and goats. There is an equestrian club offering visitors the chance to learn how to ride a horse or to simply take a walk on horseback. A tavern with traditional food is also available. The story of Deres has its roots in the period of the Venetian Rule, and later, according to the tradition, when the village passed under the command of Augusta Theodora, the wife of the Byzantine Emperor Theophilos, the village took the designation Augusta, in honor of the Emperor’s wife. In an ecclesiastical bronze tray dating from 1857, which is hosted in the church of the Savior, there is an inscription with the name “Augusta” and in brackets, the later name of the village (Deres). The designation Deres was attributed to the village by the Turks: “dere” in Turkish means ‘stream of water’ and it was attributed due to the fact that the village is located on the banks of Tauronitis River.

Amazing views from a really spatious, beautiful and clean house. Manolis is a very warm, kind and informative host. He is really helpfull, brought us some wine of his own vineyards and was very thoughtful during our stay. He also recommended us some good places to eat and visit. Amazing host!
