I would highly suggest to rent a boat in Skopelos to properly visit the island (there are a lot of small hidden beaches only accessible by boat), and I would definitely suggest to rent the boat from Axis Boat Rentals.
We had the chance to rent a boat twice. The first time we were given a quick but exhaustive lesson on how to drive the boat safely.
For the second time we had to cancel our reservation due to wind conditions, but they were so kind to move our reservation to a couple of days later, when the wind conditions were better.
For the second time we agreed to get the boat from another port and they were so kind to bring the boat there for us, without any extra charge! Communication was excellent and the people were really nice to us!
Both times they gave us an ice bag with two bottles of water and two masks for snorkeling.
10/10 totally recommended!!

We rented a boat from Stavros and enjoyed a full day of island hopping.
The service is excellent and the price fair.
We look forward to coming again to Skopelos and would definitely rent a boat from Stavros again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had an amazing day on the water and renting a boat from Axis Boat Rentals was a great choice! The boats are in amazing condition- inside and out! We had a slight snag but the owner of Axis Boat Rentals handled everything like a true professional.
We spent the day exploring the coastline, swimming, docking for lunch and finding caves.
It was an amazing family day! Thank you and if we are lucky enough to make it back we will totally rent with Axis Boat Rentals again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We rented a boat for a whole day from Axis Boat Rentals. Amazing experience. It's the only way to reach the more secluded beaches. The owners are very kind and explained in detail how to operate the boat. No liscence needed. It's simple. Just pack your snorckels, some water and lots of sunscreen. Booking was fast - we booked though their website, but we did call in advance to check if they have available boat. They brought the boat to Panormos Beach, where we were staying. The boat was in great condition - clean and brand new.
We couldn't go around the island, as there were some winds in the day that we booked, but it in the end we ended up visiting 4-5 small bays and coves with no other people around, so we didn't miss the other side of the island. We'll come back. Thanks!
