Gastronomy is a viral part of culture. And the culture of taste is complex and important.

Taste is definetely a part of creativity and, like another Fine Art, sharpens people’s five senses! It is expression, it is a delicate entertainement!

The concept of gastronomy at Barolo delicatessen is related to  quality not quantity, to substance not trend, to inner satisfaction and to the joy of tasting! It is considered to be a process of feeling and experimenting elegance and style. The famous french gastronome Brillat-Savarin (the famous french cheese was named after him) used to say that “a man of mind alone knows how to eat”!

We therefore invite you to a magnificent journey to the extraordinary world of multinational taste! The world of Barolo delicatessen!

Concept deli in psichiko, much needed. Decent food, and coffee. Wide wine variety, in a glass or bottles. Decent prices on the restaurant section. Easy parking

The food was just fair. Too expensive for what it is expected. Service was OK. The music was loud and the place was very noisy. We made a reservation for two in the inside area of the restaurant but we ended up eating outside, next to a loud gentleman who was smoking nonstop. Tables are too small. The bottle of water that we ordered suddenly dissappeared... The semi freddo had a weird bitter taste. No parking available. Not a pleasant experience at all.

It was decent. Nothing more nothing less and nothing to scream about. Pizza is ok but plenty of room for improvement. Soup was more of a chicken stock consistency rather than soupy as it should be.

Barolo is something of a landmark in Palaio Psichiko, owing to its convenient location and beautiful dining area. It is quite posh; the kind of place might "want to be seen at" if you get my meaning. Despite that ever so subtle hint of vanity, Barolo serves tasty food and good quality drinks by seasoned waiters. The prices are a bit inflated owing to its great location and branding

A restaurant with a nice ambience and an attached deli shop with a wide selection of items. It is quite popular but unfortunately I do not share the enthusiasm. We ordered: 1) Beef tartare: I believe it was minced with a machine and not hand chopped. It is my fault that I did not ask before hand how it is prepared. Besides that, it was very salty and spicy. Usually when ordering tartare I am asked if I want it spicy or not. The fact that this was by default spicy and also with this amount of salt, makes me believe that the beef was not of prime quality 2) A risotto with apple and pistacchio: Tasty but not something memorable 3) Pizetti with salami picante and provolone: This was tasty as well Overall, I would go again if one of my friends invited me there, but it would not be my first (or second) choice. Additionally, at the end, when presented with the check and I paid via credit card, I was asked if I wanted to tip. In my opinion this is very bad form and should be at the discretion of the customer when they want to do it or not and state accordingly.

It’s not bad, but definitely not up to our expectations. We visited the restaurant during “Dine Athens”, which had a semi-fixed menu. On the plus side, the atmosphere was cute, the service was fast and the pizettis were delicious. The mushroom soup recipe was less creamy than others and with truffles, but satisfying. The salads were rather good. (Ceasar + green) The wild boar cotolette was cold and the end piece was missing (check the photo). The cauliflower was undercooked, the greens were overcooked. The lemonpie tasted AMAZING, but the portion was tiny. The tiramisu was just wrong (but looked nice). They charged us for an extra glass of wine, which they removed from the bill after we noticed. The personnel was trying to be polite and smiled, however when I said I can’t drink alcohol, I was asked twice why (uh…). It’s probably just me, but it felt awkward. Fun fact: while serving the wine with a vacuum pump, the wine got all foamy. :D
