Muslim art from various eras spread through four flours. Ceramics, woodwork, tapestry, and even pieces of armour and highly decorated weaponry. Not too busy especially now with the Covid situation, located centrally yet a bit out of the city's hustle and bustle, it is an excellent alternative if you want to see something different. Most museums in Greece in particular, deal with the classic era and predominantly western artifacts, so this isn't something you would easily get to experience. The café on the roof of the building is a hidden gem and a great addition to a possible excursion. Vibrant with a great view over the ancient cemetery of Kerameikos and the hills near the Acropolis, I would suggest it for a sip of coffee and a quick rest after viewing the gorgeous exhibits.

Outstanding museum and exhibits for those interested in Oriental history, culture, religion and art Beautifully exhibited and historic eras from floor to floor covering iran, Turkey, Iraq, india. Current special exhibit of Kutahya ceramics very unique and unprecedented in Greece. Lucky we have both exhibit and the Museum in Athens. Bravo Benaki!!

Very interesting museum about arabic civilization. It give a good connection to understand Greecs historical changes. Maybe the price of 9eur is a bit too expensive for such a small museum

Beautiful museum; well worth a visit. Covid measures in place which make for a pleasant and safe experience. A great overview of Islamic art across the centuries. Good facilities, though don’t bother with the cafe upstairs, staff were rude and unwelcoming. Brusquely informed us we weren’t allowed to sit inside and made it clear they weren’t bothered if we stayed or not - We didn’t! Museum staff, on the other hand, were excellent. Highly recommended.

Very well maintained pieces, but very poorly curated museum. All the descriptions and organisation of the rooms was clearly done with an academic purpose in mind rather than educational. Therefore, this is not family friendly. Additionally all fire exit signs have been disconnected, and when raising the issue with the guards they weren’t concerned.

Beautiful small but neatly presented museum made via efforts of Benaki depicting Islamic Art and its influence in the region. Various artefacts of importance from different eras on four floors. Sad some don't have details or encryptions which seem quite valuable and unique.

Beautiful and unique museum, an interesting journey to islamic world. However the ticket is expensive, regarding the size. The cafe in 5th floor incredible, but also "empty".

Beautiful museum, very well set up (each floor showcases a different time period) and the artifacts are beautiful. Down below in the ‘basement’ there are remains of the Athenian wall which was a welcome surprise and a bit of extra cool. The museum is not hard to find or far from other attractions, but it is pretty expensive for what it is (9 Euros/person).
