Do not miss this experience! I hadn't driven a boat before but Nikolas explained everything in detail and provided a compact training. We then felt safe and confident and enjoyed exploring the island on our own.

We really enjoyed renting a boat for half the day! The boat we had was amazing and the captain was great, he showed us some cool spots around Sifnos. I highly recommend them as a company very professional and the service and boat are on point.

Not merely a boat tour company, Bloomarine has set a new bar in travel, service, and adventure. To truly understand why, you must first hear my story—“Saviors of the Cycladic”—a new entry in the Greek mythological cannon. Our story begins on a typical idyllic Sunday morning in Sifnos. It was the end of a beautiful trip and we had checked our multi-leg itinerary thrice to ensure a logistically sound trip home. The stakes were high as I had a once-in-a-year meeting on Monday. We confidently arrived at the Kamares port at 8:50am to catch our 9:45am ferry to Paros. Peering over the taxi door, our hearts dropped as we watched the SeaJets ferry disembarking. With the blaring sound of the ship’s horn, I saw my meeting wash away. Instinctively, I dialed Delta to change our flight. After pressing ‘0’ six times to only get placed on hold due to “high call volume,” I hung up. A new challenge had presented itself: get to Paros, by any means necessary, to catch our 12:25pm flight to Athens. Backtracking, I knew we had to arrive in Paros by at least 11:20am. The trip typically takes 1 hour, which meant we had 1hr20 to find a ride. I ran to the SeaJets office nearby to see about another ferry. “I’m sorry, sir...perhaps see if a fishing boat will take you?” That seemed illegal, but what did I know. I ran to the other end of the port and jumped aboard the largest fishing vessel I could find. Out of breath, I explained my conundrum to the kind man who greeted me. “I can’t take you, but I have a friend who might.” Enter The Brothers Bloomarine. He got on the phone and started making magic. “Yiannis... [the rest was Greek to me].” He hung up the phone and turned to me. “My friend Nikolas has had a last minute cancellation. He will take you. You must go to the Platis Yialos Marina on the other side of the island. Go now!” We had 20 minutes to find a taxi to depart by 10:40am, which would be fine, except the entire island had 9 taxis. I ran to the two taxis I saw. “Can one of you take me to Platis Yialos?!” “Sorry, we’re booked. Call this number…” As I took it down, my phone died. They made the call for me. “Wait here. Number Nine will be here in 15 minutes.” Number Nine arrives—our fallen angel. I explained the situation as we loaded our luggage. She was up for the challenge. Swerving through the mountain, Number Nine gracefully passed yet another obstacle: a driver moving as slow as the Sifnian sunset. “Americans!” She yelled out as she passed them by. We descended upon Platis Yialos where Yiannis and Nicolas were waiving. It was 10:30am—we were late. Yiannis, taking the role of Hermes, the god of communication and commerce, yelled: “Nikolas! Load the bags, start the engine. I’ll process the payment!” A swipe of the card and we book it across the marina. Nikolas stood behind the wheel of a small inflatable motorboat, taking the role of Poseidon, god of the seas, storms, and horses (just in case). Looking deep into my eyes, Nikolas declared: “I’ve never done this in less than an hour… until today. We cannot go to the main port, we must arrive at Aliki, steps from the airport.” It was 10:40am. LFG. Nikolas knew the route like the back of his hand—perhaps it was in his blood. During the Hellenistic era, the Sifnos-to-Paros route was well-traveled to transport the island’s mineral and marble riches back and forth. With my phone plugged into my computer, I arranged a taxi to pick us up from Aliki. Every 10 minutes or so, Nikolas would look back and scream: “Time?!” Always a thumbs up. He was dialed-in. It was 11:15am, the shoreline was in sight and I saw our taxi waiting to grab the baton. The Brothers Bloomarine and the rest of our Sifnian heroes had completed a feat of maritime glory. We docked as Nikolas threw our luggage to the taxi driver like freshly caught fish. As we ran toward our taxi, Nikolas yelled, “Wait! Mike!” I turned and ran back, breathless. “Write me a good review, please?” “Nikolas,” I replied, “I will write you the best review.”

I would recommend Bloomarine to anyone visiting Sifnos and Milos. George was incredibly helpful in answering my questions before we arrived in Greece, and the team who taught us how to operate the boat were equally as professional. The boat was immaculate and the many coves we stopped at (which we had to ourselves!) were sensational. This was definitely a highlight of our holiday to Greece... a big thank you!

Super professional, sparkling cleam boat and everything we needed from food to wind protection jackets and very pleasant and experienced captains made our day wonderful! Despite the very difficult sea that day we didn’t felt unsure not even for 1 sec.

Really enjoyed our experience of renting a boat for a day. The member of staff gave us a comprehensive tutorial on the boat and explained the best places around Sifnos to visit. It's easy to drop an anchor and swim to shore for lunch (just make sure you bring a waterproof phone case) alternatively, moor somewhere with a rope. Despite me losing the boat's anchor, the owner was understanding and helpful too. Recommend this.
