★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When my brother suddenly died in Crete in December, with all the hassle of Brexit and the Covid lock down restrictions on travel , the Christmas and New Year holidays, (great timing), The British Consulate in Heraklion could not have been more helpful. I've never had to contact them before, so had no idea of their work. Not only did they offer a sympathetic ear, but local knowledge, letters of authority regarding the urgent and necessary need for me to travel. Unofficial advice too. Its great to have someone on your side at a difficult time. Massive thank you. Paul
