★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ένα πολύ σημαντικό ιστορικό αξιοθέατο από την εποχή των Παλαιολόγων. Η Αγία Αικατερίνη κατασκευάστηκε στις αρχές του 14ου αιώνα (1300-1350), ενώ σε ανασκαφές που έγιναν στον προαύλιο χώρο, βρέθηκαν τάφοι και μία επιγραφή με χρονολογία 1173.
Πρόκειται για ένα μικρό παρεκκλήσι, διαστάσεων 7,10 Χ 3,20 μέτρων. Είναι κτισμένο στο ανατολικό τμήμα του Κάστρου, κοντά στο χώρο των άλλοτε ανακτόρων του Διδυμοτείχου, μερικά μέτρα από την «Πύλη των Ανακτόρων», γνωστή και ως «Σαραϊόπορτες». Σύμφωνα με κάποιους μελετητές, ο ναός λειτουργούσε μόνο για τις γυναίκες και τις κόρες των αρχόντων του Κάστρου. Έτσι και στα επόμενα χρόνια η Αγία Αικατερίνη θεωρούνταν προστάτιδα των κοριτσιών.
 A very important historical attraction from the time of the Palaeologans. Agia Aikaterini was built at the beginning of the 14th century (1300-1350), while in excavations that took place in the courtyard, tombs and an inscription dating to 1173 were found.
It is a small chapel, measuring 7.10 x 3.20 meters. It is built in the eastern part of the Castle, near the site of the former palaces of Didymoteicho, a few meters from the "Gate of the Palace", also known as "Saraioportes". According to some scholars, the temple functioned only for the wives and daughters of the lords of the Castle. Thus, in the following years, Saint Catherine was considered the patron saint of girls.
