Very very very good salad!!!

Is a family run business here there is not all about fancy stuff but rather about the real deal of Cretan cooking. If they have rabbit that day that's what you get however they always have the standard chicken, lamb and pig dishes. And always the Greek salad is on the menu. If you want to see a real Greek village tavern this is the place no money can't buy that whole experience. Most of the olive oil is local and also the veggies and the meat. If you're looking for a high standard place this is not for you. This is the people's tavern.

We stayed at a nearby villa and heard about this taverna, so decided to give it a try, and are delighted that we did. We had been recommended to look at the menu and order in advance (at least three hours ahead of time) as the food is all prepared fresh to order by the owners, Chrisoula and Nikos who are wonderfully kind and hospitable Cretan locals. We were looking for a taste of true Cretan cooking and this is what we got! Our favourite dishes were the tasty fresh tzatziki, fresh Greek salad, mouth-watering rice in vine leaves, absolutely delicious spinach and asparagus omelette, and the wonderful roast chicken and herbs. We had ordered in advance for dinner at 8.30pm and everything was ready for us on arrival. To be clear, this is rustic, authentic local food - not an international chain restaurant - so they may not be able to cater for fussy eaters or special diets, but the food we were served was absolutely delicious and the warmth of the welcome and service by our hosts was truly special. Almost inevitably, the evening ended with numerous rounds of raki being offered to us by the hosts, who treated us like true family. The price was also incredibly reasonable. The location is off the beaten track but pretty easy to find, close to the centre of the village, and our outside table afforded as a beautiful view of the star-lit sky once the sun had set. It’s very little restaurant owned by family. You can eat here dinner made with fresh and traditional ingredients and there is a chance that you will be the only guest ;) definitely worth to stop here

Exellent traditional food of high quallity. The raw materials for the food is locally produced! It is grown in their own gardens and the meet and cheese come from their own animals. Herbs and "horta" are picked the traditional way from the nature. The food is home made the traditional way by Krisoula - the owners wife - her selves!! Highly recommended! Hot food has to be ordered 2-3 hours in advance. Remember: All the food is specially made for you!!

Very tasty lamb chops and greek salad

Coming here is like visiting grandma and getting plenty of fresh, home-cooked food. My man ate all of the Greek salad and he usually doesn't like salad! The prices were more than reasonable and the treatment warm and welcoming. We got a fruit plate and raki on the house, and the hostess is lovely! We were the only ones there and got treated so special. Note: if you want mains, you need to tell them 3 hours in advance. I've posted the menu (from 2022) to see the food selection and prices.
