Camping Rovies - Epar.Od. Loutron Edipsou - Rovion

The owner of the camping comes around every evening and imposes himself...for the sake of "patrolling". Never seen a camping where apart from paying, you got to hang with the owner...some privacy please!

We enjoyed a lot the location, the beach is x-clean and peaceful. We had shadow Iin our tent all day. Showers were clean and there was toilet paper and soap 24 hours around. Way to go!

Camping is not pet friendly. You can keep your dog only on your spot and can not move throug the camping with it. Dogs are not allowed in taverna, nor in the common camping place, the only place in the camping there is wi-fi (extremely slow). Also, they tried to put us in the small spot, and charge us for the big one. I am giving two stars instead of one only because of an intern that works there, who was nice to us, and because they gave us back our deposit when we left the morning after we arrived.

Animals are accepted - but camping is not pet friendly. Here is our experience. We reserved our spot in camping 4 months ahead, I think. My girlfriend contacted the owner on fb page. She said we have two dogs, a large tent, that can not fit into a small space for tents, a car we like to keep next to the spot or in the spot, and we have table, chairs and a hamock we would like to set up. She also asked if we could reseve a spot by the beach. The answer was she needn't worry about it, because the camping is in 3 of the best campings in Greece, even the small spaces are big enough and that we would be satisfied. She also offered to translate the website into Serbian, cause the translation on the website was google translate and for the most part, it was Serbian for clumsies. I just want to say we have chosen this camping specifically because it said on the website it was pet friendly, which is important when you have two dogs :) and because on the photos it looked like the beach was long and we could spend some time on it, finding a spot where we will not be thinking about if someone was bothered by the dogs. We arrived to the camping to find a young girl, or to say, a very cold receptionist, who checked us in. We again stressed we have a large tent as we said on reservation and she said we could get a bigger spot for more money, of course, which we accepted. Then a boy, an intern who works there during the summer, showed us our spot, small, far from the sea, next to the road, which was very loud. We said we can not stay there or fit and he really tried to get us a better place. The receptionist kept saying the bigger and better places were reserved, but when we asked how were they reserved when we were told a specific spot couldn't be reserved, and that we also had a reservation, after half an hour, they finally gave us a bigger spot. Still it wasn't what we expected, but it was better than the first one and we were ready to settle. We just wanted to set the tent and eat. When we set the tent we were headed to taverna to eat but while passing through it we were informed by the intern that it is forbidden to go to the restaurant with a dog, and that basically they could hang in our spot and on the beach and wherever we wanted to go, they had to stay tied in our spot. Sorry, but that is not pet friendly. To summarize, Rovies is located at a nice spot, has some decent spots, some very nice by the sea, facilities are old, and not practical, store has virtually nothing in it, restaurant looks poor, playground for children is cute. We slept there, and in the morning took our deposit back and left to Pelion where there is not one restaurant that is not pet friendly, and to camping Hellas, which we love. The only positive encounter in Rovies was that young intern, who was the only one who cared and was really nice and friendly. To end this novel, if you are traveling without pets, this could be acceptable place to stay, if you have a dog, just don't ;)

Quiet and nice camping. Tents under the trees. Restaurant with daily new dishes. Clean facilities. Small market store without necessary staff. Expensive coffee. Clear sea water but not easy beach. Not many things for children to do.

Good prices. There is enough shadow everywhere. Some places even have a beautiful view at the sea. The staff is very friendly. But there is almost no warm water and if there are more than two people simultaneously that try to take a bath there is not enough water. It is right next to the sea but the beach is too rocky.

A little bit tired in places but otherwise fabulous. Lots of shaded and small individual camping spaces. Some larger ones and three capable of accommodating a nine metre motor home, but a bit tight getting there. Lovely small beach. Popular restaurant on site. Each pitch has drinking water and EHU. Only open main season. Staff all very friendly and speak perfect English. Would return.

One of the best camping places I have visited. All the camp areas are surrounded by trees with cool deep natural shade. Almost the half camping areas are facing the sea shore with exceptional view of sunset and feel of the sea breezes especialy during the night. All the area is very clean and well maintained by professionals with love for camping. Families can find a place to relax and have fun without any risks. In addition the camp provides qualified person for kids training and entertainment. Power outlets ,water supply on every camping area and leveled gravel add extra points in accommodation. All the sanitary areas are cleaned allmost hourly and there is no sign of garbage on the streets. All of amenities are provided such as refrigerator laundry and cooking area. I highly recommend it!!!!
