Agios Nikolaos the Younger (in Vounenoi), my grandfather Evangelos Kraniou built the first small church on the main road that leads to the path to the church many years ago. Unfortunately I see with regret that they did not respect this sacred place ..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Morgens mit dem Bike um die Navarinobucht und rauf auf den Berg. Vorsicht mit den Hunden auf Höhe Müllberg. Prima zu fahren, aber mit doppelter Erkenntnis: tolle Aussicht, aber Windkraft ist laut, sehr laut!
In the morning with the bike around the Navarinobucht and up to the mountain. Beware with the dogs at height Müllberg. Great to drive, but with double recognition: great views, but wind power is loud, very loud!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Schöne kleine Kirche, mit Ebike, teils auf Schotter, hochgefahren. Kleine Ziegenfarm, riesige Müllhalde, Windräder, Klärwerk, tolle Aussicht, Gestank....hier wird Alles geboten.
Nice little church, driven up with an Ebike, partly on gravel. Small goat farm, huge garbage dump, wind turbines, sewage treatment plant, great view, stench...everything is offered here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great steep walk up the road then a long term down an ancient pathway. From Pylos to the church in a circular route takes about 4-6 hours but fantastic views. The church is locked, visiting must have to be arranged but it looks like it is used from time to time.
