Η Μαρίνα είναι ορεινό χωριό του νομού Μεσσηνίας. Βρίσκεται στο βορειοανατολικό άκρο του νομού, σε υψόμετρο 700 μέτρων, κοντά στα όρια με το νομό Ηλείας, στις νότιες απολήξεις του Λυκαίου όρους. Υπάγεται διοικητικά στο δήμο Είρας.
Είναι ένα πανέμορφο ξεχασμένο χωριό στις πλαγιές της κοιλάδας της Νέδας. Λιγοστοί κάτοικοι έχουν απομείνει στο χωριό. Ανάμεσά τους ο μπάρμπα Κώστας, που από τότε που συνταξιοδοτήθηκε μένει μόνιμα στο χωριό και ασχολείται με κάποια χωράφια, περιποιείται τα δέντρα του και κάνει παρέα στους άλλους τέσσερις μόνιμους κατοίκους του χωριού. Το σπουδαιότερο όμως που κάνει στο χωριό του είναι ο εμβολιασμός των άγριων δέντρων σε ήμερα.
H κυρά Ακριβή ζει μόνιμα στο ερημωμένο χωριό και παρά την προχωρημένη ηλικία της, καταφέρνει ακόμα και φτιάχνει έναν όμορφο κήπο με λουλούδια μπροστά στο σπίτι της κοντά στην εκκλησία του Αγίου Βασιλείου και περιποιείται λίγα οπωροφόρα δέντρα που έχει στον κήπο της.
