★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very impressive and beautiful church at the heart of Rethymnon, just opposite from the market square. Although it is not overly decorated on the outside, it is full of ikons and glass paintings on the inside. Even though it is an Orthodox church, it seems less palatial, yet still stately. It is worth taking a few minutes time to visit this church before strolling through the historic district and alleys of Rethymnon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The church in memorybof the 4 martyrs is very nice. A quiet corner in the middle of the city. Unfortunately the relics are available to the public only on the date of 28th each month. Anyway I loved the church.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the most important and historic church of Rethymno, dedicated to the local saints, the four martyrs. The church is the biggest in Rethymno and is built on the spot of the martyrdom of the saints. The present church building is a newer version of an older and smaller one. The impressive part is the church interior which is adorned by fantastic frescos and icons of the Cretan religious painting school.
