 Temple of the Lady of Angels. The locals affectionately call it Mikri Panagia, which means the Little Mother of God. Built in 1609. The building of the Temple housed the Orthodox Church, a mosque and barracks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Были в Rethymno в период с 24.08.21-07.09.21. Посетили Church of Our Lady of the Angels прогуливаясь по пешеходным улочкам города. Церковь имеет интересную историю. Когда-то она была захвачена Турками и переоборудована в мечеть. Но в 1917 году христианам вернули их святыню, и храм был освящен в честь Богоматери Ангелов. В этот период были удалены остатки минарета, а уже в 1920 году была построена церковная колокольня. Средства на ее строительство пожертвовала молодая девушка – неизлечимо больная жительница города, о чем и сегодня напоминает памятная табличка в верхней части колокольни. Как и во других церквях Крита можно поставить свечи, оставив то количество денег, которое сочтёте приемлемым.
Were in Rethymno from 24.08.21-07.09.21. We visited the Church of Our Lady of the Angels while walking along the pedestrian streets of the city. The church has an interesting history. Once it was captured by the Turks and converted into a mosque. But in 1917, Christians returned their shrine, and the temple was consecrated in honor of Our Lady of Angels. During this period, the remains of the minaret were removed, and already in 1920 a church bell tower was built. Funds for its construction were donated by a young girl - a terminally ill resident of the city, which is still reminiscent of a commemorative plaque in the upper part of the bell tower. As in other churches of Crete, you can light candles, leaving as much money as you deem acceptable.

Three-aisled church of the 16th century. It is dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene of the Dominican Order. She is also called the Little Virgin in comparison with the Great Virgin of the Diocese.
