★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a nicely preserved late byzantine era church. The place is beutiful and it is the second most recognisable landmark of the city just after the famous bridge of arta

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An impressive Byzantine church-monument from the 13th century. The architecture is stunning on the exterior with the ceramics and the domes, and on the interior with the dome that seams to be hanging on the air

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A Byzantine church/symbol/landmark for Arta, Paregoritissa is a monument to visit. One can admire the complex architecture, the sculpture and the frescoes who were made in different phases, from the Byzantine times to the Late Ottoman Empire and the 19th century. The two headed eagle still stands on the floor of the church, reminding the byzantine nature of the monument. The restoration of the surrounding buildings help the visitor to understand better the initial monastic nature of the site. The staff is very helpful and polite. A place worth visiting.
