Ὁ ναός τοῦ Ἁγ. Ἀθανασίου εἶναι τό καθολικό παλαιᾶς μικρῆς μονῆς, στή δυτική εἴσοδο τῆς Νάουσας. Μέ τήν πάροδο τοῦ χρόνου, τά λίγα κελλιά καί οἱ βοηθητικοί χῶροι τῆς μονῆς κατέρρευσαν.
Σήμερα, ὑπάρχουν ὁ ναός τῆς μονῆς, πού διατηρεῖται σέ πολύ καλή κατάσταση, ὁ μανδρότοιχος πού περικλείει τή μονή, μία μικρή αἴθουσα στήν νοτιοανατολική γωνία τοῦ ναοῦ, πού χρησιμοποιεῖται ὡς γυναικωνίτης καί τρία συνεχόμενα ἰσόγεια κελλιά, τά ὁποῖα ἔχουν πρόσφατα ἀνακαινισθεῖ καί στεγάζουν τήν Συλλογή Βυζαντινῶν Εἰκόνων καί Κειμηλίων τῆς Νάουσας, ἡ ὁποία βρισκόταν πρῶτα στό παρεκκλήσιο τοῦ Ἁγ. Νικολάου τοῦ Μοστράτου.
Ὁ ἀρχικός ναός ἦταν μικρότερος ἀπό τόν σημερινό.
Τόν Ἰούνιο τοῦ 1675 πουλήθηκε στούς καθολικούς, οἱ ὁποῖοι τόν κατεδάφισαν καί τόν ἑπόμενο χρόνο θεμελίωσαν στή θέση του μικρή μονή μέ νέο ναό, λίγα κελλιά καί τούς ἀπαραίτητους βοηθητικούς χώρους.
 I.N. AGIOU ATHANASIOU. (OLD MONASTERY).
Ὁ ναός τοῦ Ἁγ. Athanasios is the katholikon of an old small monastery, at the western entrance of Naoussa. Over time, the few cells and auxiliary spaces of the monastery collapsed.
Today, there is the church of the monastery, which is kept in very good condition, the pen wall that encloses the monastery, a small room in the southeast corner of the church, which is used as a women's room and three consecutive ground floor cells, which are located recently Byzantine Icons and Relics of Naoussa, which was first located in the chapel of St. Nikolaou of Mostratos.
The original church was considered smaller than today.
In June 1675 it was sold to the Catholics, who demolished it and the following year founded in its place a small monastery with a new church, a few cells and the necessary auxiliary spaces.
