★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Church of St. Nicholas is a nice church, located at the east edge of Kato Mousioutitsa. The view that is visible from there is spectacular. On the east side of the church there is a small memorial site on which are commemorated several names that fell during three bloody periods in the history of Greece (1922 - against the Turks, 1943 - against the Nazis and in 1945-1949 - during the civil war in Greece).
It is hard to believe that in this peaceful and quiet place a barbaric massacre took place by cruel Nazis, during which 152 residents of Mousioutitsa were brutally murdered on July 25, 1943.
A monument in their memory was erected in the village Nea Mousiotitsa, in the valley, about 2.5 km northeast of Kato Mousioutitsa.
