Εξωτερικά αυτό που ξεχωρίζει είναι το πυργοειδούς μορφής βενετσιάνικο καμπαναριό. Επειδή είναι αρκετά ψηλό, οι καμπάνες του ακούγονται αρκετά μακριά! Το 2005 την λήστεψαν και την έκαψαν. Έτσι χάθηκε για πάντα ο εκπληκτικός εσωτερικός διάκοσμος του ναού. Παρ' όλη αυτή τη μεγάλη καταστροφή οι κάτοικοι του χωριού αλλά και ολόκληρου του νησιού προσπαθούν να την επαναφέρουν στην πρότερη κατάσταση. Ως ένα βαθμό τα έχουν καταφέρει και συνεχίζουν... Η μνήμη της Αγίας Μαύρας τιμάται τις 3 Μαΐου. The church of Agia Mavra is 10 km from Zakynthos and is located in the village of Macherados. Y	Yanni Wssgl on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ομορφη εκκλησία από έξω,μεγαλοπρεπής,δυστυχώς μέσα ειχε καει οποτε το εξωτερικό με το εσωτερικό του Ναου δεν συμβαδίζουν,σας συνιστώ όμως αν ο δρόμος σας φέρει στο υπεροχο μαχαιραδο να σταματήσετε και να θαυμάσετε την αρχιτεκτονική αυτού του Ναου! Beautiful church from the outside, majestic, unfortunately it was burned inside so the outside and the inside of the Temple do not go together, but I recommend you if the road brings you to the wonderful knife to stop and admire the architecture of this Temple!

Zeker een bezoekje waard als je dr in de buurt bent,alhoewel het in the middle of nowhere ligt. Dorpsbewoners zijn trots op hun werk,en terecht!!! Sommige stukken zijn echt vakmanschap Church that burned down in 2005 and since then the villagers are busy with the renovation. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, although it's in the middle of nowhere. Villagers are proud of their work, and rightly so!!! Some pieces are real craftsmanship

En vlakbij ligt ook een heel mooi Grieks-orthodoxe kerkje met nonnen klooster. Dat is nog mooier om langs te gaan! Schitterende iconen. Let wel op een doek of rok voor de vrouwen (benen bedekken). Moeite waard om langs te rijden. Very beautiful church that has suffered heavy damage from a fire in 2005. They are working hard to restore it. There is quite a bit to see. And nearby is also a very beautiful Greek Orthodox church with a nunnery. That's even nicer to visit! Brilliant icons. Please note a cloth or skirt for the women (cover legs). Worth driving past.

Κάθε γωνιά της εκκλησίας έχει πολύ ενδιαφέρον και για τους θρήσκους και για τους μη θρησκευόμενους τουρίστες! Ιδίως το περίτεχνο ξυλόγλυπτο τέμπλο του ναού που ξανά φιλοτεχνήθηκε όμοιο μετά την πυρκαγιά του 2005 αξίζει να το θαυμάσει κανείς. Και το καμπαναριό εξαιρετικό. It is worth the visit to the church of Agia Mavra in Macherado. Every corner of the church is very interesting for both religious and non-religious tourists! Especially the ornate wood-carved iconostasis of the church, which was similarly made again after the fire of 2005, is worth admiring. And the bell tower is excellent.
