★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Δεν αγγίζουμε ιερά και όσια. Απλά, ταπεινά τα ασπαζόμαστε. Το κτίσμα κατα πιθανότητα ανήκει στη Ρωμαϊκή εποχή χωρίς αυτό να είναι σίγουρο. Είναι ναός προς τιμήν της Γεννήσεως της Θεοτόκου. Περισσότερα στοιχεία τα έχει η αρχαιολογική Υπηρεσία.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η Κηφισιά φημίζονταν για το καλό της κλίμα ήδη από την αρχαιότητα. Κατά την περίοδο της Τουρκοκρατίας εύποροι πολίτες έπλεναν τα ποδάρια τους εδώ και εκεί και χρησιμοποιούσαν λουτρά κτλ. Κάποτε, λέει η παράδοση, ο Τούρκος Αγας θέλησε να χρησιμοποιήσει την εκκλησία ως αποθήκη για το κρασί του. Ε, αυτό έγινε ξύδι ως εκ θαύματος και βγήκε η ονομασία "Παναγία η Ξυδου". Το κτίσμα φαίνεται να εντάσσεται στα κτίσματα της Βυζαντινή Εποχής όπου η ανέχεια της κυρίως Ελλάδας (εν αντιθέσει με άλλες περιοχές όπως η Κωνσταντινούπολη, η Μικρά Ασία κτλ) ήθελε να δημιουργούνται μικρά μονοχωρα κτίσματα (βλέπε : Παναγία Νερατζιωτισσα, Άγιος Δημήτριος Αμαρουσίου πλησίον Βορρεειου Βιβλιοθήκης, Αγιος Θωμάς Αμαρουσίου, Άγιος Ιωάννης Πελικας κτλ). Για την κατασκευή του χρησιμοποιήθηκαν σε 2η χρήση αρχιτεκτονικα μέλη από αλλά κτίσματα της αρχαιότητας.
Kifissia has been famous for its good climate since antiquity. During the Turkish occupation, wealthy citizens washed their feet here and there and used baths, etc. Once, according to tradition, the Turkish Aga wanted to use the church as a storehouse for his wine. Well, this miraculously became vinegar and the name "Panagia i Xydou" came out. The building seems to be part of the buildings of the Byzantine Era where the misery of mainly Greece (unlike other areas such as Istanbul, Asia Minor, etc.) wanted to create small one-story buildings (see: Panagia Neratziotissa, Agios Dimitrios Maroussi near the North Agios Thomas of Maroussi, Agios Ioannis Pelikas etc). For its construction, architectural members from other buildings of antiquity were used in the second use.
