Εκτός του ότι ήταν το κοινωνικό σημείο θρησκευτικής συνάντησης των Ποταμιανάτων, αποτελούσε και γενικότερο σημείο συνάντησης λόγω των γάργαρων νερών που αναβλύζουν. Σημείο για να δροσιστούν ή να πλύνουν τη μπουγάδα τους. Εν τω μεταξύ η κοινωνικότητα ανθούσε. Στη σκιά των πλατανιών στήθηκαν πολλοί χοροί και πανηγύρια. Ακόμα διατηρούνται οι πέτρινες λεκάνες (λίμπες). Στο κοιμητήριο το πέρασμα των εντοπίων οικογενειών με τα ξεχωριστά ονόματα τους. Τα τελευταία χρόνια της κρίσης η δημοτική αρχή σταμάτησε το πανηγύρι που γινόταν με το γνωστό Κεφαλλονίτικο κέφι.
