★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Coffee Lab offers a choice of excellent coffee and many ways to have it made (Espresso machine, Aero Press, Chemex, V60, Clever, etc.).
Everything is perfect...except the coffee measurement and the water temperature.
Instead of weighing the coffee, the barista eye-balled the whole beans she had scooped with a plastic cup. Even after grinding, there was no weighing.
As for the water, rather than investing 100 euros in a temperature-controlled kettle, they use the steamer from the espresso machine (and they don't bother to even check the temperature with a cheap thermometer).
With the temperature precision required to brew good coffee (temperature varies based on method, roast, desired result), this hit-or -miss way of heating water results in a miss. My coffee was warm, barely.
If you go for an espresso shot or related, I'm sure you'll be happy. Those fans of something else should try Coffee Island.
I'm going back to Coffee Lab. I want to like them. I hope I this was merely an anomaly.
