★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Τέταρτη γενια καφεκοπτών, με τις φωτογραφιές παππου και προπαππού στον τοίχο. Αλλά το εξελίσουν, τρίτο κυμα καφέ πλήρως και κάνουν εξαιρετική δουλεια.
Σα μέση λύση για εσπρέσσο δοκίμάσα το χαρμάνι contessina (Βραζιλια + Κολομβία, αν θυμαμαι καλά), που με άφησε πολύ ευχαριστημένο. Για πιο ιδιαίτερο δοκίμασα μια Αιθιοπία Burtukaana, απίθανη ως εσπρέσσο και εντελως διαφορετική απο τις συνήθεις sidamo ή yirgaheffe. Στο φιλτρο, ο καφες απο τη Δημοκρατία του Κονγκο ήταν και παλι ιδαιτερος, με θαυμασια αποτελέσματα στο φλυτζάνι.
Αυτο που πολύ με εντυπωσιάζει με την Conte Cafe ειναι πως δεν ειναι απλα ένα τοπικό καφεκοπτείο. Οι καφέδες τους ξεπερνουν στο φλυτζανι αυτα που εχω δοκιμάσει στην Καβάλα, Ιωάννινα και άλλα μέρη. Καφέδες που σε προκαλουν να πειραματιστείς, να δοκιμάσεις και να ανυπομονεις την επομενη φορα που θα ξαναφτιαξεις καφε. Τι άλλο μπορεί κανεις να ζητήσει απο το καφεκοπτείο του;
Πρέπει να αναφερθω και την θερμή φιλοξενία του Βαγγέλη και της Αναστασίας, κατά την επισκεψή μου στο μαγαζί τους.
Fourth generation coffee makers, with photos of grandfather and great-grandfather on the wall. But develop it, third wave coffee completely and do a great job.
As an average solution for espresso I tried the contessina blend (Brazil + Colombia, if I remember correctly), which left me very happy. For more special I tried an Ethiopian Burtukaana, incredible as espresso and completely different from the usual sidamo or yirgaheffe. In the filter, the coffee from the Republic of Congo was again special, with wonderful results in the cup.
What impresses me most about Conte Cafe is that it is not just a local coffee mill. Their coffees outnumber the ones I have tried in Kavala, Ioannina and other places. Coffees that challenge you to experiment, try and look forward to the next time you make coffee again. What else can one ask for from your coffee grinder?
I should also mention the warm hospitality of Vangelis and Anastasia, during my visit to their store.
