Conteco Asos - Rent a Boat - Central Pier 1

My wife and myself had just the best day renting this well maintained and really clean boat. The engine was fabulous and in calm waters would would with ease raise the boat on the plane. However, for us and our recommendation is a moderate cruise and enjoy exploring the many beaches where the only access is via the sea. Deserted beaches, blue blue aqua marine water perfect for snorkelling or a cold beer from the ice box provided. They even give you a blue tooth speaker to play our favourite iTunes. We had the boat for 7 hours, explored beaches, crossed the bay and had lunch in a fisherman’s harbour, stopped on the way home at Myrtos beach and home for sunset… stepping of the boat for an evening meal at Nefelir our favourite Assos Resturant which overlooks the harbour and is next to Conteco Rent a Boat. Professional, good value and highly recommended.

Absolutely magnificent experience departing from the picturesque town of Asos and experiencing the best beaches Cephalonia has to offer. We thoroughly investigated all other boat rental services across the island and Conteco stood out for a few reasons: newer boats, professional website, complimentary speaker and dry bag, complimentary cooler (bring ice although ice packs are provided) and a beautiful departure harbor. While Conteco was the more expensive option out of most other services on the island, it comes with good reason. Our boat was BRAND NEW, with 50 engine hours on the boat at the beginning of our journey, we knew we weren’t far off from the boats maiden voyage. Additionally, the service we were given was intimate and it felt more like taking a friends boat out rather than the “rental car agency” vibe you get when renting most recreational equipment. Babis, the friendly, helpful, and caring operator of Conteco’s boat rental service provided us with a short crash course in boating and gave a very thorough introduction to the boat and it’s usage. Although all 3 of us in our party had years of boating experience, so Babis cut it short and trusted us to use our best judgement (despite all of us being younger, ~25 years old). Babis was receptive during our journey as well, answering us on WhatsApp and promptly aiding us as soon as we got back to harbor to refuel. We visited beaches on the southern most side of Myrtos Bay (we drove to the furthest beach with no stopping and got back to Asos to refuel by 12:30). We then went to beaches near the northern tip of the island. We truly felt as if we saw the best beaches the island had to offer and we have to agree with Babis, the beach to the north is objectively superior to one of Greece’s most famous beaches Myrtos. It was entirely secluded as it is ONLY accessible by boat and the waters were the clearest we had ever seen. While the beach is not sand but pebbles, it is still marked by the signature white cliffs that Cephalonia is known for. The water was smoother than most lakes we’ve been to, and we were worried if a boat of its size would be capable of traversing the coast, but there were no troubles at all. It was a remarkable experience and our favorite experience we’ve had in Greece so far (after 5 days in Athens and 3 in Chania, Crete). Our group is very well traveled and we all agreed ASOS and the experience with Conteco rivals anything we’ve ever experienced from the Amalfi coast, Southern Thailand, and the Caribbean. All three of us agreed we would do this experience again 100 times over and we all agreed that the price of the boat rental and ~80 euros in petrol were an insignificant price to pay for the experience. Again, we went across almost the entire western end of the island in under 3 hours of engine time, so expect your petrol price to be lower (Babis told us we had the company record for most gas used). Thanks again Babis and Conteco, truly a life changing experience! We hope your business will continue to thrive and our hope is that Asos retains its beauty and charm. We can’t wait to be back!

Just spent the last week in May in Assos, it’s an idyllic place. We hired a boat for the day, absolutely brilliant. The service is second to none, everything is thought of from booking and being shown places to visit, being shown round the boat / controls etc.. a quick drive round to ensure we were happy with everything, cool box/ ice packs, speaker, & a dry bag! Babis is charming and nothing is too much trouble. Simply the best day, popping from cove to cove, swimming in the crystal blue waters, stopping for lunch at a local Taverna on a beach. We will be going back next year just booking the accommodation now for 2023.

Best day of our holiday. We had the best day exploring beautiful beaches and swimming. Most the beaches were completely empty. Can not recommend Conteco more. The team were very friendly, professional and fun. The boat was perfect. 100% book with them.

Boating is a must do. And conteco is the place to start. The owner is great. Welcoming, informative and honest (says what he does, does what he says). Boats are straightforward to use and the crew walks you through everything you need to know until you feel comfortable. They provide you with a cooler, ice packs and a little speaker. You supply the Mythos ?. As promised, the beaches are unreal and the drives there are calm and beautiful. The empty beaches are comparable to any you can get to by car. 100% would recommend this place for your rental boat adventure. Great value for 8 hours of fun, relaxation, and exploration.

This is a fantastic way to spend the day. We had such a wonderful time. The owners were incredibly kind and provide everything you need to make it a very special day. Lots of advice on where to go, bluetooth speakers for your boat, ice boxes for your drinks and even masks and snorkels. . We will do this again on our next visit. Thanks for a great day.
