We book a trip to meteora. We speak german and english, but we must go with a russian group.
We book a trip to meteora. We speak german and english, but we must go with a russian group. Horrible No more with this company I do not have the problem of having to go with the Russians, but also that the tour guide spoke Russian, barely in English, and wish you to take a bus for hours to speak to Russian passengers. It would be a legitimate expectation on the island where a lot of German-speaking tourists turn around, that the tour guide should speak German at the basic level, not English. We were a previous day with another company where 4 guided tours in English, German, French, and Spanish were solved. This is professionalism, your company is either amateur or not interested in passengers. The 1 star is not meteoric rocks and monasteries, but your company!

I was amazed with the level of professionalism that I met when doing the booked tour with them. They have at least 40 different tours and trips and I was sorry for I only had 4 days for visiting Corfu

We were picked up at our hotel by a comfortable, air conditioned mini bus and driven up the coast and then through the beautiful olive grove lined roads to the little village of Gastouri and the Achillion Palace. In the grounds of the palace there is an explosion of colour with beautiful Bougainvillea, Pergolas and Cyprus trees. There are statues of Greek mythological figures, the likes of Zeus, Hera and Achilles – in the throes of death - and tremendous view over the island towards the Capital. Inside the Achillion Palace itself was jaw dropping with ceiling frescos, artwork and furnishings dating back to the Palace’s construction. I particularly liked the fact that there were personal items of Empress Elizabeth’s to look at and we learned a lot of fascinating history from the free audio guide. We then took a short drive to the hill of Kanoni where there are stunning views of the tiny island of Pontokanisi (Mouse Island) and the quaint little whitewashed Vlacherna monastery which is set in very pretty surroundings. It is also very near to the airport so if you’re lucky (which we were) you can watch a plane or two roaring in right overhead! After these stunning scenes we were then taken to Corfu Old Town and left to our own devices for a couple of hours to explore the narrow winding streets leading down to the sea. From here you can see both the old and new fortresses which are very well maintained. You can pick up souvenirs from the tiny shops that fill the cobbled Venetian inspired streets and visit the majestic Church of Saint Spyridon (with the highest bell tower on the Ionian Islands). We then had a coffee and a bite to eat in lovely restaurant before making our way for a stroll around the enormous Spianada Square (the largest square in Greece!) which is a very picturesque space with crafted trees, lawn and monuments. All too soon it was time to depart back to our hotel taking our glorious memories of the day with us. We would definitely do this again – money well spent!

We booked this on the spur of the moment and were really pleased we did. We don’t usually book excursions but the Corfutrips website made the trip sound like something we would enjoy. Booking the places and paying was very straightforward. The pick up point was 5 minutes from our apartment at the local bus stop. The boat was bigger than we expected but had shade and a place to get a drink. Paxos is really pretty. We were there for a couple of hours, enough time for a decent lunch on the harbour and a mosey round the shops. On the way back to Corfu we went to Anti Paxos where we were able to have a swim and cool off. The sea is really clean and very clear. All in all it was a day we enjoyed, well organized and good value for money. I would recommend it to my friends.
