He was always helpful and explained everything both before and afterwards (in his perfect English) and was alway available on the phone for any of my worries.

As the swelling increased along with pain I attended Rethymnon hospital, where I was informed that I would require an orthopaedic doctor. There is only one day each week alotted for orthopaedics and when I attended it was packed out with numbers of patients beyond belief.I decided to find a private consultant and that was the best decision that I could have made. From the time I met Dr Michailidis he instilled confidence. His diagnosis along with possible treatments and alternatives were given in his clear and understandable perfect English. After a course of antibiotics to reduce the swelling, it was decided that removal of the problem under local anaesthetic was the best solution. Dr Michailidis performed the operation (excision of olecranon bursa) with an absolute minimum of pain, and I have no problem in recommending his services to anyone requiring orthopaedic treatment. On a short vacation I decided to get a second opinion and advice on what is a bad situation gone worse and because I’ve had to fight to even get in contact with a doctor in Sweden!!! I was lead by intuition to Dr Michailidis who at this point gave me some useful information and advice. I was struck by his incredible knowledge and professionalism and passion for his work! Later that year Doctor Michailides provided me with a new knee, and repeated the operation on the other leg the following year. Both of those operations were carried out at Rethymno General Hospital. Earlier this year I visited him for a consultation about a hip replacement operation, which was duly done with great success in September at the Kapakis Clinic in Chania. Throughout, Doctor Michailides has proved to be a very kind, caring and first-rate orthopaedic surgeon. He not only cared for me, but also made sure that my wife knew everything that was planned, and looked after her mental welfare as well as mine! A true gentleman and a friend. We are lucky to have him.

The diagnosis and treatment I received from him was first class. He is a true gentleman, very caring, extremely knowledgeable and patient!! He went above and beyond to ensure I understood everything he had told me about my injury and options. In fact when I attended the Hospital back in the UK they were extremely impressed with his diagnosis and excellent treatment I had received. He went above and beyond his way to accommodate me with my father who is ill overseas in Greece while I am in the United States of America and unable to visit due to covid restrictions.
