★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the palatial villa of the Duchess of Plaisance who lived here during a part of recent Greek history. She supported the Independence war against the Turk and contributed millions to the cause. Unfortunately it is not possible to enter the villa from what we saw when we were there but there probably is a visiting schedule somewhere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When i was young i was interested upon that lady that came to Greece with her daughter to confort herself from life she could not stand,she just wanted to live like any human being away from "glamorous"and rich in pocket but poor in Spirit..her life is connected with this place that choose to live..so in this far away place far from new Athens in mid of 18th century she built her palace..she was a duchess..but life didnt let her pass peacefully her last days since her daughter died...she had one child..Born in Athens when the city was for humans with 500 thousands now SIX millions a city for prisoners ..i escape walking up in the Mountain of Pentely where new Greeks made it a mess,extracting marble and continuous fires of precious pine forests etc etc etc..New Greece...What great Civilization had ancient Greeks..poloticians at that old times that didnt follow Ethical rules either were killed or were forced to leave the country...etc etc etc.
