Caution! Counterfeit gasoline. We filled the tank with unleaded and after 200 meters the engine light came on. The car had never had a problem before. After 2 attempts to continue driving the car left us completely and needed a fuel pump filter emptying and changing fuel. Needless to say, there are no spare parts on the island and you have to wait a week for them to arrive. The same problem occurred in others in the following days

They will scam you... Give cash and they will pretend to fill your tank. Stay away

Great Gas Station. They fill the tank for you (which is the custom in Greece). The person who dealt with us spoke English. They filled our tires up with air for free. Friendly and helpful.

BEWARE: classic scam in operation here - only possible at a “full-service” station. Pulled in and asked for €15 in the tank of the car, pump nozzle in etc, paid in cash, off I go feeling good. About 200m down the road I see my fuel gauge hasn’t moved even one bar - realisation that I haven’t had any fuel. Go back and explain no fuel was put in. Guy claims to not understand me “you want more fuel?” Explaining that I need the fuel I paid for he says, without hesitation or any checking at all, that he definitely put it in. Then claims my fuel gauge has mysteriously broken (just at the moment he 0put the fuel in). I get a little more direct now indicating that I need the fuel or the money, otherwise the police are coming. Guys shrugs he shoulders and challenges me to call the police. I go into the office, all employees now engage in the discussion. Receipts start getting checked, no evidence of any fuel going in. Eventually, “ok, we’ll give you the €15 of fuel”. I stand at the pump to check. Guy asks me “ok now?” I said yes, but could do without the lies and hassle. He calls me a liar then starts banging on my car and shouting at me to leave. My advice - go to the shell just up the road and avoid this classic tourist rip-off scam.
