★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο ναός είναι δισυπόστατος και τιμάται και στη μνήμη
του Αγίου Γεωργίου.
Χτίστηκε σύμφωνα με την παράδοση στη θέση ενός μοναστηριού που ιδρύθηκε από κάποια μοναχή Πελαγία. Το 17ο αιώνα ο ναός αυτός ήταν ο κύριος ναός της περιοχής και σύμφωνα με μαρτυρίες κατοίκων κάηκε τρεις φορές.
Στη σημερινή του μορφή ο ναός είναι κτίσμα του 1858 και είναι του τύπου τρίκλιτης, ξυλόστεγης, μεταβυζαντινής βασιλικής. Στην αυλή της εκκλησίας υπήρχαν άλλοτε κελιά στα οποία διέμεναν οι προσκυνητές που επισκέπτονταν την εκκλησία κατά την διάρκεια του πανηγυριού.
Το πανηγύρι γίνεται κάθε 2 Μαΐου, ημέρα κατά την οποία έγινε η ανακομιδή των λειψάνων του Αγίου Αθανασίου. Σε παλιότερα χρόνια, κατά την διάρκεια του πανηγυριού λάμβανε χώρα το «κουρμπάνι», η θυσία δηλαδή βοδιών ή αρνιών, τα οποία στη συνέχεια μαγειρεύονταν και μοιράζονταν στους επισκέπτες.
The temple is two-storied and honored in memory
of St. George.
It was built according to the tradition of a monastery founded by a Pelagia nun. In the 17th century this church was the main church of the area and according to the testimonies of the inhabitants it was burnt three times.
In its present form the church is a 1858 building and is of the type of three-aisled, timbered, post-Byzantine basilica. In the courtyard of the church there were formerly cells held by pilgrims who visited the church during the festival.
The feast takes place every 2 May, the day on which the relics of St. Athanasius were remade. In earlier years, during the festival, the "kurban", the sacrifice of oxen or lambs, took place, which were then cooked and distributed to the guests.
