★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Όμορφη και μεγάλη εκκλησία πανω στη πλατεία της Παιανίας. Το σημαντικό ειναι οτι υπάρχει εύκολο και πάρκινγκ. Το μόνο αρνητικό ειναι οτι απο την κεντρική είσοδο δεν διαθέτει ράμπα για καροτσάκια, βέβαια τα σκαλοπάτια ειναι λίγα! Μια πολυ καλη πρόταση για όσους θελουν να τελέσουν κάποιο μυστήριο!
 Beautiful and large church on the square of Paiania. The important thing is that there is easy parking. The only downside is that from the main entrance there is no ramp for strollers, of course the stairs are few! A very good suggestion for those who want to perform a mystery!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Κατάνυξη...Εχει λείψανα του Αγίου Λουκά του Ιατρού,τα οποια βρίσκονται μπροστα σου προς προσκύνησητ εισοδο σου στον Ιερό Ναό.Ολοι εκεινοι που διακονουν τον Ναό ειναι υπεροχοι ανθρωποι κι ο παπα Μιχάλης μας ετοιμος παντα να ακουσει οποιονδήποτε τον πλησιάζει.Ο Ιερος αυτος Ναος αποτελεί αναπόσπαστο κομμάτι-στηριγμα της ζωής μου.

Very nice church, very well preserved with paintings by Fotis Kontoglou and his student.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Το κέντρο της Παιανίας, πανέμορφη εκκλησία
Ο Ιερός Ναός της Ζωοδόχου Πηγής βρίσκεται στην πλατεία της Παιανίας. Κτίστηκε από λαϊκούς τεχνίτες (1902-1905) και αγιογραφήθηκε εξ ολοκλήρου από τον Φώτη Κόντογλου και τους μαθητές του, Ιωάννη Τερζή και Βασίλειο Μπρούσαλη, πριν και μετά την κατοχή (1939-1956). Τα έξοδα της ανέγερσης και αγιογράφησης καλύφθηκαν από τους κατοίκους της Παιανίας.
Η αγιογράφηση, που απλώνεται σ'ολόκληρο το εσωτερικό του ναού άρχισε ένα χρόνο πριν από τον πόλεμο και συνεχίστηκε μετά την απελευθέρωση.
Σχετικά με την εικονογράφηση υπάρχουν επιγραφές πληροφοριακές του ίδιου του Κόντογλου και των βοηθών του. Η επικρατέστερη από αυτές γράφει: Δια χειρός Φωτίου Κόντογλου εκ Κυδωνιών Μ.Ασίας. Υπογράφει τις περισσότερες ο ίδιος (χειρ Φωτίου Κόντογλου).
Στην αγιογράφηση του ναού ακολουθεί την γνωστή Βυζαντινή και μεταβυζαντινή παράδοση σχετικά με την διάταξη των εικόνων. Τα χρώματα που χρησιμοποιεί είναι λίγα και έντονα. Υπάρχει ενότητα χρωμάτων καθώς δένουν αρμονικά μεταξύ τους
The center of Peania, a beautiful church
The Church of Zoodohos Pigi is located in Peania Square. It was built by craftsmen (1902-1905) and was painted entirely by Fotis Kontoglou and his students, Ioannis Terzis and Vasilios Broussalis, before and after the occupation (1939-1956). The cost of erection and hagiography was covered by the inhabitants of Paiania.
Hagiography, which extends all over the interior of the temple, began one year before the war and continued after the liberation.
About Illustration there are informative inscriptions of Kontoglou himself and his assistants. The predominant of them writes: By hand Photios Kontoglou from Kydonia of Asia Minor. He signs most of himself (dr. Photios Kontoglou).
The hagiography of the church follows the well-known Byzantine and post-Byzantine tradition regarding the arrangement of the icons. The colors they use are few and intense. There is a unity of colors as they blend harmoniously with each other
