★ ★ ★ ★ ★ a middling 3* overall to reflect some great aspects, and some considerable downsides / tradeoffs. good stuff is mostly outside: well situated, short walk to the beautiful beach of Aigiali, incl. decent breakfast and basic hotel facilities at Lakki, aircon, local family owned and managed, daily clean, least night noise from the revelries, fig trees in the garden. trade-offs are mostly inside: nowhere near the standard fit and kit of a place charging €200± per night; rough mattresses; no window nets to protect from the abundant mosquitos; poor kitchen equipment; difficult car access; the walking path through the olive grove to the beach is a fouled stretch that could easily be tidied but isn't. didn't get in the way of us having a good time on Amorgos, but it's more a tolerable and less a delight.
