★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο Ελληνικός Ερυθρός Σταυρός ιδρύθηκε στις 10 Ιουνίου 1877, με πρωτοβουλία της βασίλισσας Όλγας. Από τη στιγμή της ίδρυσής του αναγνωρίσθηκε από τη Διεθνή Επιτροπή Ερυθρού Σταυρού και σήμερα αποτελεί μέρος της «οικογένειας» του Διεθνούς Κινήματος Ερυθρού Σταυρού και Ερυθράς Ημισελήνου. Στη μακρά πορεία του παραμένει σταθερά αφοσιωμένος στις διεθνείς ανθρωπιστικές αρχές και στην αλληλέγγυα εθελοντική προσφορά βοήθειας προς τον συνάνθρωπο.
Ο Ελληνικός Ερυθρός Σταυρός είναι ο μεγαλύτερος μη κυβερνητικός οργανισμός στην Ελλάδα με σύνθετο έργο που βασίζεται στην εθελοντική δράση και την άμεση ανταπόκριση των πολιτών. Κινητοποιείται στοχεύοντας πάντα στην ανακούφιση του ανθρώπινου πόνου σε περιόδους πολέμου και ειρήνης, στηρίζοντας τραυματίες, ασθενείς, πρόσφυγες, ηλικιωμένους, ανθρώπους με οικονομικές δυσκολίες και άτομα από κάθε ευάλωτη ομάδα του πληθυσμού. Η δράση του έχει συνδεθεί με την επαγρύπνηση, την αλληλεγγύη και τη φιλαλληλία και είναι συνώνυμη της αφιλοκερδούς προσφοράς και της ανιδιοτέλειας.
 The Greek Red Cross was founded on June 10, 1877, on the initiative of Queen Olga. Since its inception, it has been recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross and today is part of the "family" of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. In the long run, he remains firmly committed to international humanitarian principles and to the solidarity and voluntary offer of help to fellow human beings.
The Hellenic Red Cross is the largest non-governmental organization in Greece with a complex project based on voluntary action and immediate response of citizens. It mobilizes always aiming to alleviate human suffering in times of war and peace, supporting the wounded, the sick, refugees, the elderly, people in financial difficulties and people from every vulnerable group of the population. His action has been linked to vigilance, solidarity and philanthropy and is synonymous with non-profit offering and selflessness.
