Ellotis - Ellotis

Ellotis villas is a perfect place to take it easy. Beautiful houses with all a wonderful swimming pool and lots of privacy. Super!

We had already written a positive review in 2016, but where did it go? Therefore again a big thumb for this place. For us the second time we are here. Great this Ellotis Villas. Spacious places around the houses and lots of privacy. In the morning only the sheep and their bells. In the distance a crowing rooster and the church bell of Vamos. Verders an oasis of peace. A car is indeed necessary, but you also want to visit other places in Crete?

Much overdue maintenance, the owner is not friendly at all. Cleaning is only done once a week. We experienced that in the evening someone had suddenly been in our house and had left the key on the outside of the door, everyone could have come in. We have had no excuse for this, and no explanation has been given as to why someone was present late at night. The location is beautiful the house is beautiful but it is heavily exploited by the owner, really a shame ..

Location is fine and the outdoor area is nicely maintained. There is plenty of room to sit outside and there are sunbeds by the pool. Unfortunately you have little privacy in the garden. Several neighbors have unobstructed views of the garden. The 3-room villa is unfortunately not a detached villa but a semi-detached house. The maintenance and furnishing leave a lot to be desired. Of course this is a Greek holiday home and you cannot compare it with a house in the Netherlands, but because this is an expensive accommodation, I will mention a few things. The mattresses are unbelievably hard. Fortunately, we were able to get a few top deck mattresses so that the beds became more comfortable. The washing machine didn't work and turned off every few minutes. Washing clothes was therefore not possible. The interior design is very sparse. All the walls are bare and there are only a few windows in the house itself. The light in the bathroom on the ground floor had a blue cap so you hardly had any light from it. In the living room/kitchen there is 1 lamp with a bright blue-white LED in it. A number of pans in the dated kitchen had already seen their best days and should be replaced. The TV only worked for 1 evening and the rest of the time only a "no-signal" appeared. The last few days it was cloudy and cool with the result that there was no hot water. Of course there are also positive aspects such as the location in a beautifully maintained park with a view of the mountains and the excellent air conditioning. You can walk to Vamos where there are some restaurants and the village of Kalyves with its beach is only a short drive away by car.

Beautiful holiday park with nice houses with a private pool in a fantastic location. Very friendly people and a very nice environment. The sea is a short distance away: several nice places with nice beaches.
