★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tourist POV: Very loud and crowded but this is to be expected. Lots of fruit and veg stalls which are beautiful but not that relevant for tourists. Lots of honeys and olive oil as well but not necessarily cheeper than off the market - bartering may be necessary. Plenty of clothing and merch stalls aimed towards tourists, many offering the same sort of things but for different prices - shop around first. Some food/ beverage stalls too but generally expensive - bring your own water and avoid these.
On the whole, if you're a tourist, stick to the rows going through the market as they offer tourists products and you can avoid walking arround the outside where all the fruits and vegetables are. Total time: ≈60mins

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not for us. If you need fresh produce then it's perfect. Beautiful looking fruit and vegetables and very bargainous clothing but unfortunately we were looking for a more unique purchases.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The market itself is full of fresh produce at extremely good prices, there are other non food bargains if you are willing to dig into piles of clothes, go early for the choice or later for the good bargains.... but please do be aware of your personal belongings at all times it is extremely busy and noisy and because the Cretans are renowned for their honesty and hospitality people do travel in to take advantage of this

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This market is organized every Saturday morning. It is the Best place to find fresh vegetables and fruits at the cheapest prices. There is a large number of producers so you can choose your product to be most suitable for your needs. There are also some sellers for fresh fish and local meat and milk products! In the center of the market you can find textiles, clother and other similar products. I visit and shop almost every week! Highly recommended!
