★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fine local taverna, but nothing extraordinary. The food is much like what you find at the other restaurants in the area. The fries they serve don't look very interesting, and while the chicken was fine I've had better in Makrigialos. I'm not saying not to visit this restaurant - I just think some of the other restaurants are a tad better.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We wandered past Faros on our first night in Makrygialos and decided to dine there because the fish displayed out the front looked so fresh.
The staff were so friendly and the food was great value and delicious. We had the whole grilled sea bass and a whole grilled squid plus some tzatziki and some house wine - everything was excellent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very disappointed in the service and food. One of our party ordered meatballs which came out very cold. When this was pointed out to waiter he replied why? took the food away and brought it back the same meal heated in microwave. It was minus the cutlery. Then we had to wait five minutes for a waiter to ask for the cutlery. I realise that they were very busy, but the service was not good and they were not attentive. I personally will not be back to eat in their restaurant

The other "typical" cretan dishes are well done. Nevertheless, this is a typical tourist cretan restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great place to be. While wandering around with no purpose at all I fell upon the great hospitality of the place. Despite my short time there I enjoyed it and loved it. Constantinos really won my heart and he's the spirit of the place! Keep the good work !
