Worth a walk .. Mainly for boys 5-10 years old, the thematic unit of the pirates, you also put a little sauce and spend a beautiful half hour .. Better to go from the port, because from the upper road, the phase is a bit strange.

Very interesting museum! It has objects from the daily life of the people of the island in the old days. Pirate items and items from World War II. It also has a beautiful view of the port! Definitely worth a visit!

The very interesting museum, in Patitiri, is private and has been operating since 2001, on the initiative of Messrs. Konstantinos and Angelas Mavriki. His exhibits are presented on two levels. In the basement, it is a purely folklore museum with an emphasis on the lifestyle of the island's inhabitants in previous years. Forgotten, today, professions, tools, utensils, photographs, come to life for a while before our eyes. Upstairs we have a historical museum, which includes archaeological exhibits, but also one, the only one in Greece, a pirate museum of the 16th - 18th century. The sea area of Alonissos due to the many islands and islets was an ideal place for a pirate headquarters. Here we will see a unique collection of items related to pirates, even handcuffs to tie their slaves.

Surprisingly extensive museum featuring 4 parts - local history (WW2), local pirates (was surprised to see how active they were and when), national customs and a whole basement of local crafts (weawing, blacksmith, winemakers etc.) Reasonably priced (4€ per person).

An amazing, private effort to create a folk museum on the island of Skiathos. Personal belongings ranging from photographs to cutlery, this is a place where you can travel back in time on the island where the great Greek writer Alexandros Papadiamandis was born and wrote some of his masterpieces.

Overall it was quiet unsatisfying +1* because the collection is interesting and diverse. Amazing exhibitions can come out with such material +2nd* because the ground floor with the folk representation was a good attempt and with some more touches and it can be epic -1st* because of the overwhelming and chaotic presentation in the showcases and in the layout of the museum -2nd* because of the tacky flashy yellow labels in the WWII showcases. These are the labels used to put prices on products from supermarkets. Yes, a situation could ve occurred and they could ve used them temporarily. I urge you to replace them asap. -3rd* because the museum could offer NO WATER to the visitors. Come on guys... it s summer, it s hot, and there are stairs. Seriously what if I was an elder or an underaged person ?
