D	D.E. Köhne on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Das Tor, das den Namen des Heiligen Nikolaus trägt und das ein Überrest der venezianischen Stadtbefestigung ist, übersieht man irgendwie immer. Dabei liegt es doch sehr prominent gelegen am Ende der Spinanda / Esplanade neben dem St. Michael- & St. Georg-Palast. Vielleicht bemerkt man dieses historische Bauwerk nicht, weil man einfach mit dem Auto durchfährt oder zu Fuß durchgeht; denn die Straße zum Hafen Kerkiras führt durch das Tor. Das Tor stellt eine historisch wertvolle Bausubstanz dar und ist somit eines oder mehrerer Blicke durchaus zu würdigen. The gate that bears the name of St. Nicholas and is a remnant of the Venetian city fortifications is somehow always overlooked. It is very prominently located at the end of the Spinanda / Esplanade next to the St. Michael- & St. Georg-Palast. Perhaps you don't notice this historic building because you just drive through it by car or walk through it; because the road to the port of Kerkiras leads through the gate. The gate represents a historically valuable building structure and is therefore worthy of one or more glances.

Brama jest łatwo dostępna, można pod nią przejść na drugą stronę i obejrzeć pałac z i nej perspektywy. Ma swój urok, do tego wykonana z czegoś piaskowego. A very nice and characteristic building. It is located right next to the palace of St. Michael and St. George. The gate is easily accessible, you can go to the other side under it and see the palace from a different perspective. It has its charm, and it is made of something sandy.

It is only an extra minute by foot from the Esplanade where thousands of people gather every night to mingle, eat out, have a drink, shop or simply walk around this enchanting town. The gate and the adjoining magnificence of the Palace is magically lit up and looks grand. Photos cannnot capture the atmosphere that encapsulates this town at night. The Gate adds an unexpected addition and sense of calm and history to an otherwise vibrant, buzzing old town full of shops and people.
