Really inexperienced young doctors that cost me 13 days of my vacations. When I first went there i had a problem with my right ear (slight pain, reduced hearing and a constant noise that was totally disorienting and devastating). I was examined by a young lady doctor who examined my ear for like 5 seconds and diagnosed otitis media (mid ear infection) and prescribed antibiotic pills plus ear drops that contained antibiotics. For that they asked €40. After 5 days I wasn’t getting any better so I returned. I was examined by the same doctor who said that my mid ear infection was getting better but now my ear was blocked by ear wax and she asked me to take some special drops for a day and to come back the next day so that they would do an ear wash to unblock the ear. I did as she recommended and returned the next day. I was received by a young man doctor who washed my ear with normal serum using a syringe. After supposedly cleaning my ear he said that my hearing should get better but I would still hear the annoying sound because of the mid ear infection which was still present as far as he could see. He said that ear block cannot cause the sound which was due to liquid being aggregated behind the ear drum and that he would recommend I would continue the antibiotics. He said that mid ear infection requires at least 10 days of antibiotics. Unfortunately, neither my hearing got better nor the annoying sound left after the ear wash. After three days of not getting any better and being totally frustrated I visited a real specialist doctor in Rethymon. He examined my ear and found that was totally blocked with wax and liquid and mentioned that this ear didn’t look like an ear that was washed 3 days ago. He also said that ear washing with normal serum is not used any more and we never ever wash an infected ear. He used specialized equipment to clean my ear. After that my hearing was TOTALY RESTORED AND THE ANNOYING SOUND WAS GONE. He mentioned that he didn’t see any signs of mid ear just outer ear infection and that I should immediately stop getting antibiotics and that I should get stronger ear drops than the one they administered. If you have a medical issue PLEASE, DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND FIND A REAL DOCTOR to resolve it.
